Up to 8 inches of snow in spots

Heavy snow falling in New Hampshire. smooth overnight travel conditions

Up to 8 inches of snow is possible in some areas

AND THIS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL TOMORROW. YES CORRECTLY. NOW, MONICA AND STEVE, ACTUALLY THE SNOW THAT’S ACTUALLY PICKING UP RIGHT NOW HITS A HARD FIST BETWEEN THIS O’CLOCK AND POSSIBLY THREE, MAYBE 4 AM AT SOME POINTS. YOU CAN SEE HEAVY, WET SNOW IN DUBLIN. EVERYTHING IS NOW SNOWED. SO YOU REALLY HAVE TO TAKE IT SLOW ON THE ROADS, EVEN IN THE LOCAL MANCHESTER AREA. IT’S A STEADY, MODERATE WET FALLING SNOW MEANS LARGE WET, FAT FLAKES ON TOP OF SOME SNOW. SO THE ROADS BECOME SLIPPERY. YOU NEED EXTRA TIME IF YOU TRAVEL BETWEEN NOW AND TOMORROW MORNING. THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. NOW AT THE QUEEN CITY, 3431, DEW POINT, WINDSOR LIGHT OFF EAST NORTHEAST. THEY HAD A TEMPERATURE OF 34 DEGREES. IT REALLY TELLS THE STORY FROM THE SNOW SEQUENCE. WHEN YOU’RE LOWER THAN, SAY, 29, 28, IT BECOME A LITTLE DRYER AND FLUSHER IN NATURE AS YOU GET UP TO 20 AND ESPECIALLY 30, 31, 32 P , AND THAT’S GOING TO CONTINUE HEAVY FOR MOST OF THE NEXT HOURS, FRIDAY. SNOW CONTINUES, BUT MUCH LIGHTER, ALTHOUGH THERE MAY BE A MODERATE BURST FOR TWO, THREE, 4 HOURS, SENDING AROUND LATE MORNING OR AFTERNOON. AND DEFINITELY SOME SLOW JOURNEY TO HAVE LIKE THIS SEASON. TEMPERATURES HIGHER TWENTY, LOWER THIRTY. YOU CAN SEE THE STORM REALLY GOING ON RIGHT NOW. SO MUCH ENERGY IN THE ATMOSPHERE THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE LIGHTNING AND PARTS OF THE CONNECTICUT DOWN TO NEW YORK. STORM ABOUT A HALF AN HOUR 2 HOURS AGO. AND NOW THAT THE MOISTURE IN THE ENERGY IS RISING INTO FAIRLY COLD AIR. SO FOR THAT, IT’S MOSTLY A SNOW EVENT. THERE MAY STILL BE SOME MIXING AS AVERAGE ATMOSPHERIC LEVELS ARE VERY CLOSE TO 32, ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE MID-ADNO AREA AND NEAR THE ROADS OF ARCHIA. ALSO IN THE NORTH STEADY TO MODERATE. AND AS THIS TURNS OUT OF THE SOUTH, WE WILL SEE MORE WET SNOW FIRES TURN ON AND OFF BETWEEN NOW AND THE NEXT HOURS. SO HOW LONG CAN WE EXPECT? AND WHAT ABOUT TRAVEL IMPACTS ON FRIDAY FOR MUCH MORE AND ALL THAT? WE BRING IN METEOROLOGIST HAYLEY LAPOINT TO TALK SNOW TOTALS. WE HAVE MONITORED THE CHYMOLOGY AND ANY OF IT MIXES. OF COURSE THIS EATS OUT THE SNOW TOTALS AND OUR SNOW FORECAST. SO I’M DEFINITELY CONCERNED TO SEE A BIT OF THIS PINK IN THE MID-ATLANTIC AREA. THAT’S WHY KEENE’S AREA THERE IS IN THE 2 TO 4 INCH RANGE INSTEAD OF 4 TO 8. SO THOSE ARE THE NUMBERS. WE REVISED IT A LITTLE AFTER, SAY, 7:00 TONIGHT, BASED ON THE FACT THAT WE’VE SEEN AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF WINTERY MIX AND SNOW ACROSS THE GREATER MANCHESTER AREA AND POINT. SO IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD 4 TO 8 INCHES IN THE PURPLE AREA AND THEN INTO THE BLUE AREAS, INCLUDING KENE AND THE COMMUNITIES JUST ACROSS THE MASSACHUSETTS BORDER, SAY PELHAM AND IN NEWATUNDUANDIA WE ARE GOING TO BE CLOSER TO 2 AND A HALF OF THAT. SOME OF THAT MIX WE HAD A LITTLE BIT EARLIER THIS EVENING. BUT TRAVEL IS HIGH TONIGHT, EVEN IN THESE SOUTHERN AREAS, BECAUSE THAT SNOW WILL NOW FREEZE AND BE COVERED IN WET, SALTED SNOW. TOMORROW MORNING MEDIUM IMPACT MAINLY BECAUSE THE SNOW JUST WON’T FALL. IT MAY STOP FOR A WHILE. THEN AFTERNOON, THE LAST SORT OF SNAP OF SNOW COMING IN AND IMPROVING CONDITIONS AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND REALLY, SATURDAY LOOKS REALLY GOOD FOR TRAVELING. NOW, FOR MORE ON THE TIMING OF THIS SYSTEM, WE’LL GO BACK TO MIKE. OKAY. HALLEY POINTED OUT ALL OF THIS FIRE SNOW OVERNIGHT PERIOD. YOU CAN SEE IT IN FUTURE CASTS BETWEEN NOW AND ONE, TWO, MAYBE 3 AM. SNOW AMOUNTS COULD EXCEED AN INCH PER HOUR IN SOME AREAS WITH, AGAIN, SOME MIXING IN THE MIDDLE HOUR TO MIDNIGHT, EVEN UNTIL FOUR OR 5 AM WHEN THE SNOW CLOSES. YOU COULD WAKE UP TO MANY SPOTS OF CLOUD. SNOW SHOWERS IN THE NORTH AND MAYBE LATE MIXED IN THE COUNTRIES. AND HERE’S THIS SECOND BATCH OF ENERGY, NOT AS STRONG AS IT’S COMING SO FAR A LITTLE MORE SNOW WILL OCCUR IN THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON BEFORE THE ASSEMBLE TODAY, BIG SUMMER TODAY, LATE MELLA. SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY WITH ANOTHER LATER WEDNESDAY OR WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY. TOO EARLY TO CALL RAIN, SNOW LINE AND HOW MUCH
